Collection: Les Errances

Les Errances, or “The Wanderings,” is a small winery in Rablay-sur-Layon run by Warren and Maïté Perrocheau. The couple met in Rennes in 2009, and after backpacking around the world from Mexico to Sweden they returned to Paris. A few years in the corporate world made them realize they wanted a slower, more natural way of life, prompting a move to the Loire Valley.

After completing studies in viticulture and gaining experience with some of the region’s leading producers, they founded Les Errances in 2018.

They currently farm 6 hectares of mixed grape varieties and also purchase small quantities of fruit from organic growers such as Alain Bore and David Landron. They are committed to reduce the négoce and planted new vineyards in the recent years to make their entry level wines with the young vines. Their approach in the vineyard emphasizes careful attention to detail and permaculture principles, promoting the diversity of plants and trees both within the vineyards and in the surrounding environment.

In the cellar, they practice minimal intervention, with long fermentations, reliance on natural wild yeasts, and a variety of fermentation vessels. Sulfur is added only when necessary, and always in minimal amounts, allowing the character of each vintage to shine.
