Oszkár Maurer, a fourth-generation winemaker whose great-grandfather also worked in the region, lives and farms his lands in Hajdújárás, 35 kilometers from Szeged, just across the Hungarian border. His vineyards straddle two historically significant areas: the South Csongrád wine region and the Szerémség region, often considered the cradle of Hungarian wine culture.

Within these historic lands, including Tarcal Hill (Fruška Gora) and the Subotica-Horgos area of the Southern Great Plain, most vineyards lie between 90 and 270 meters above sea level. Tarcal Hill shelters the vines from cooler northern winds, while its southern slopes enjoy a Mediterranean and sub-Mediterranean microclimate, creating an exceptional environment for grape growing.

Oszkár focuses on traditional Hungarian grape varieties, including Furmint, Szerémi zöld, Kövidinka, Bakator, Mézes fehér, and Olaszrizling. He also tends the Kadarka vineyard, believed to be the oldest in the world, planted in 1880, which is part of his 15 hectares of vines.
