It is made from the native grape variety of the Hajdújárás region, Bakator, from the fruit of young vines and a small part from an old, 113-year-old plantation. After the harvest, the part picked from the young vines is kept on the skin for 3 days, while the old part is pressed directly in whole bunches, matured in multiple-fill barrels for 6 months and bottled after adding a touch of sulfur.

Maurer Oszkár
Oszkár Maurer, a fourth-generation winemaker whose great-grandfather also worked in the region, lives and farms his lands in Hajdújárás, 35 kilometers from Szeged, just across the Hungarian border. His vineyards straddle two historically significant areas: the South Csongrád wine region and the Szerémség region, often considered the cradle of Hungarian wine culture.
