Collection: Morgane Turlier

Morgane Turlier is one of Jura’s most promising young winemakers, crafting wines with precision, sensitivity, and a profound respect for terroir.

Originally from the Le Mans region, she discovered her passion for wine during a viticulture and oenology program in Montmorency (the only course in France at the time focused on organic farming and minimalist winemaking). In 2014, at just 23, she completed an internship with Étienne Thiebaud at Domaine des Cavarodes, quickly becoming an integral part of the team and learning to make wines that truly breathe with the land.

In 2016, Morgane began producing her own wines near Mesnay, close to Arbois, where she formed a close working relationship with Thomas Popy. By the end of 2017, she joined the Chenèvre collective in La Chapelle-sur-Furieuse, a cooperative project where labor, vineyard work, and winemaking are shared, ncluding the help of two workhorses, Laïla and Dzaïla.

She currently farms around 2.5 hectares, primarily planted with red varieties Trousseau and Poulsard, alongside smaller plots of Chardonnay and Savagnin. Her vineyards span five sites: La Chapelle-sur-Furieuse, Marnoz, Salins-les-Bains, Cramans, and Buffard. The soils are varied, but Morgane’s approach is consistent: all vineyard work is done with horses, and treatments are minimal, limited to copper, sulfur, and herbal infusions.

Her wines are made with minimal intervention. Harvesting is done by hand, and red grapes undergo traditional maceration on the skins in large wooden barrels or tanks for about a month, with only gentle remontage to aid fermentation. Whites are usually direct-pressed, begin fermentation in tanks, and are transferred to multi-use barrels at the optimal moment to complete fermentation. Reds age on their lees for roughly 11 months, while whites are aged a minimum of 24 months, before being bottled without additives or sulfur.

Morgane Turlier’s wines reflect her sensitivity, her respect for nature, and her personal touch. They are lively, energetic, authentic, and full of life.
