The base material comes from a biodynamically farmed Blaufränkisch in Bátaszék, planted in the 1990s, harvested in two stages. From the first pick, using many whole clusters, a portion was made following the classic Beaujolais method with a small addition of direct-pressed juice—this also produced the Nove Vino released at the end of 2022. Ten days later, the second pick was processed using a loose flotation method, where 30% destemmed berries float on 70% pressed juice. These two lots were fermented in separate barrels, and their eventual blend resulted in an engaging Blaufränkisch with autumnal, spicy notes, highly approachable and easy to enjoy.

Géza’s journey to Mohács took him along unexpected twists and turns, guided by a mix of chance, timing, and an open-minded curiosity about the world of wine. Originally from Upper Hungary (now Slovakia), his father had vineyards near Kürt. While no wine was ever produced there, the family’s passion for a cellar was inherited by Géza.
