Monbenault is one of the most beautiful areas of Anjou, the soil is made up of grey and blue slate and lots of rhyolite, a red volcanic rock rich in silica. Thomas's 0.25 ha plot is located on the top of the hill and was planted in 2014. 100% Chenin Blanc which spent 8 months in stainless steel tanks, then 4 months in multi-fill 500 litre barrels.

Thomas's more than unusual life path – anthropological and film studies, a brief career as a film director – led him to Anjou, where he first tried his hand at the role of cellar master at Château Yvonne and became acquainted with natural winemaking.
In 2011, he bought 2 hectares of vineyards in Rablay-sur-Layon, where he saw some promising land next door to Richard Leroy. The soil was a mixture of red sand, gravel and deep clay, which Thomas could not have dreamed of better for the realization of his plans.
