In the 'Riesling' series, pure Rhine Riesling lots harvested at several harvest times are blended every year, which come from the outstandingly talented 2015 Templomdombi vineyard and the 2018 Rókaluki vineyard. The year 22 was an exceptionally dry, drought-prone year, and the harvest took place at four well-chosen times, between September 9 and October 10. After the whole-bunch pressing, it ferments in amphorae of various types and sizes. It matures on the lees for 13 months, then is decanted into a tank before bottling in September 2023, from where it is bottled unfined, unfiltered, and without the addition of sulfur in November 2023. It matured in the bottle for another two and a half years to allow the acids to smooth out nicely.

Stephen Bencze
István founded his estate on the Szent György Hill in 2011, which reached its final size of nearly 30 hectares step by step between 2011-2024. He has been working organically since the beginning, and since 2015 he has farmed the entire estate biodynamically (Demeter certified), with the goal of exploring old Hungarian grape varieties and the full potential of the terroir.
