The vineyards for Bourgogne Blanc Chardonnay “Les Riaux” are around 50 years old and are planted on predominantly sedimentary clay soils. With a south–southeast exposure, the site allows the grapes to reach optimal ripeness before harvest. The fruit is hand-harvested and gently pressed directly into old demi-muids, where the wine matures for one year. It is bottled unfined, unfiltered, and without the addition of sulphur.

Although Renaud Boyer, a native of Meursault, originally intended to become an engineer, he was drawn back early on to the remarkable terroirs of the Côte de Beaune, ultimately following in his grandfather’s footsteps.
He took over 3 hectares of vines (many over 80 years old) from his uncle, Thierry Guyot, a pioneer of organic and biodynamic farming in Burgundy since 1986.
