A lively and soulful expression of Jura red varieties, Pangea 2023 comes from old vines - some nearly a century old - planted on the clayey, gravelly soils of Cramans, near the river. The wine is Trousseau-led, with smaller proportions of Poulsard and Pinot Noir, and the northern and eastern exposures of the plots lend natural freshness and elegance.
The hand-harvested clusters undergo spontaneous fermentation in tanks, including a four-week maceration using the “infusion” method. After pressing, the wine rests for seven months on the lees in used barrels before being bottled in August 2023. The result is a fresh, expressive red that balances vibrant fruit, subtle complexity, and refined Jura elegance.
