An amazing archaic batch, actually the ancestor of vermouths, made with 100% aszú-flavored Furmint sweet base wine, seasoned with a tincture made from 10-15 different spices and herbs, of which wormwood is the most dominant.
We had a lot of exciting ideas while tasting the wine, whether it's neat as an aperitif, paired with dessert, or even as an ingredient in some contemporary cocktail. The wine has a herbal aroma and flavor reminiscent of wormwood wines!

Maurer Oszkár
Oszkár Maurer, a fourth-generation winemaker whose great-grandfather also worked in the region, lives and farms his lands in Hajdújárás, 35 kilometers from Szeged, just across the Hungarian border. His vineyards straddle two historically significant areas: the South Csongrád wine region and the Szerémség region, often considered the cradle of Hungarian wine culture.
