100% Syrah, in collaboration with Valentin Vallès.
From a new site by a lakeside, the fruit comes from a small parcel surrounded by trees.
The soil is very distinctive, composed of pink sand (high in iron), so in this first vintage the grapes were direct pressed to better understand the expression of the terroir.
Acidity is more pronounced here than in Charles and Guillaume’s own vineyards, such as La Clastre, resulting in a more reductive profile and pronounced fruit aromas. Higher yields led to lower alcohol. Fermented and aged in stainless steel for 12 months. Bottled without fining, filtration, or added sulfur.
