L’Origine – “Origin”. This wine hails from the 30 acres first cultivated by Pierre’s grandfather in 1960. The vineyards, planted on limestone soils, feature vines around 60 years old.
In keeping with its heritage, the vinification follows a classic approach, paying homage to his grandfather’s legacy. Most of the grapes were fermented as whole clusters, with only a small portion pressed directly. The juice was then aged for over a year in smaller, older barrels, resulting in a wine that expresses terroir, tradition, and understated elegance.

Pierre Clair’s story begins in the 1960s, when he first planted vines on his parents’ land near the village of Corpeau in the Côte d’Or, producing just enough for experiments and personal consumption. He and his wife, Jennifer, eventually took over his grandfather’s estate in 2006, working evenings and weekends alongside their jobs at other local wineries.
