This wine is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, aged in a combination of 50% new barrels and 50% multi-fill barrels. The 2022 growing season began with a very rainy and humid spring that lasted until early July. In mid-July, however, the weather shifted dramatically, turning hot and dry. Unfortunately, several vineyards were affected by hail, resulting in a reduced harvest. Fermentation proved particularly challenging in 2022, and in some wines the alcoholic fermentation stopped before reaching dryness—even by the summer of 2023. As a result, the winery released special “PLUS” wines from the vintage, bottled with a small amount of residual sugar and sealed with a corona cap.
The result is an exceptionally complex wine, with the touch of residual sugar adding roundness and enhancing the overall balance and texture.

Andreas Tscheppe
Andreas Tscheppe has been following his own path since 2006, farming and making wines according to biodynamic principles in southern Styria, near the Slovenian border.
The vineyards, painstakingly terraced to his own design, retain a wild, vibrant energy. At 500 meters above sea level, they are alive with wild herbs, ground cover, and a thriving insect community. Insects are central to Andreas’ philosophy: his wines are even named after them, as he sees them as the truest indicator of a healthy vineyard.
