Agricola VINB

Agricola VINB is a small, independent winery in southern Sicily, nestled between Vittoria and Chiaramonte Gulfi in the heart of the sun-soaked countryside. Founded in 2021 by two longtime friends, Vittorio and Biagio, the estate is the realization of their shared dream: to return to their homeland and make natural, terroir-driven wines.

VINB is the product of years of research and experimentation: tastings, blind tastings, and micro-vinifications on rented plots, combined with the renovation of a long-abandoned family cellar and the revival of surrounding olive groves. At its core, the project is guided by a deep belief in sustainability, regenerative agriculture, and respect for the land.

The philosophy of Agricola VINB revolves around nature, passion, and friendship. It is not just a winery, but a story of two friends reconnecting with their land and breathing new life into it from vine to bottle, stem to stem.

The estate spans 8 hectares, with 5 hectares of vineyards and 3 hectares of olive groves, where the indigenous Tonda Iblea variety thrives. The vineyards are located in the historic Bastonaca vineyard in Vittoria, as well as the higher slopes of Ganzeria and Ragoleti, between Chiaramonte Gulfi and Licodia Eubea, at elevations of 400–500 meters. The vines grow in Terra Rossa, rich red clay capped with limestone, giving the wines both freshness and structure.

Farming follows a regenerative, organic, and biodynamic approach. The goal is not just to cultivate grapes, but to restore soil health and maintain ecological balance. Green manure is sown and rolled into the rows, enriched with compost or manure produced on-site. No artificial nutrients or chemicals are used. Copper and sulfur treatments are applied only when strictly necessary, and mechanization is kept minimal: the rotary hoe has been completely replaced with a mulch chopper to protect soil structure.

In the cellar, VINB follows a no-intervention philosophy. Fermentations occur spontaneously, without pied de cuve, and no additives are used before or after fermentation. Sulfur is introduced only when absolutely unavoidable.

Of the 3 hectares currently in production, the vineyards are planted predominantly with Frappato, an ancient indigenous variety, alongside a smaller planting of Nero d’Avola, from which a fine, expressive rosé is made.

Hand-harvested from 25-year-old vines, the grapes are destemmed and left on the skins for two weeks before being gently pressed with a basket press.
